Aléthós (230 in Strong's Concordance) is an adverb in Ancient Greek that means to act truly or to act genuinely.
This adverb is used to modify verbs that are translated into past and present tense. Matthew 14:33 is an example of the present tense, as they declare Jesus is the Son of God. Mark 15:39 is an example of the past tense as the centurion, upon seeing Jesus die, declares that he was the Son of God.
