What does therapón mean?

Therapón (2324 in Strong's Concordance) is a noun in Ancient Greek that means an attendant or a servant.

The term is a synonym for the more commonly used doulos, which means a slave, and diakonos, which means a minister or servant. While the meaning does overlap, therapón implies a caring servant, one who attended to the needs of another with wilful disregard to their own need, whereas a slave might do so under compulsion.
